a weekly dose of the raw stuff.

She tells me,

"At the time I didn’t wanna make a big deal
At the time I wasn’t even sure how to feel
Cuz when his hands touched my body without my permission
And his eyes moved up and down me like I was his possession
I brushed it off
Cuz who really cares,

you know?

I brushed it off
Cuz that’s life for a girl,
you know?"

And all I can do
Is hang my head low
And sing
Me too...
Me too,
Me too.

May the days we spend sharing space and time, help us rise to our highest heights.

Are you looking to be entertained?

Well I don't know if I can help today.

So many questions on my heart and on my brain, no I don't want to just entertain you.

Are you looking for distraction?  I mean, is that your course of action?

Don't get me wrong there is a time and place for fun, but I'm not looking to distract anyone.

Because there's change brewing, no longer is it deep beneath the surface.

The way this train is moving, it's forcing us to think about our purpose.

And I'm not scared to sing, "Revolution".

My soul won't rest until we find solution.

It might take all day and night and the rest of our lives,

but it's worth a try.

Because in a few years, our bodies return to the Earth.

Our bones and blood will become one with the dirt.

And I don't know about you, but I want my moves to matter.

So the young souls know will know that

Love is all we were after.

What do you stand for?

What makes you come alive?

What makes you scream?

You better find out what it means...

I believe that imagination is stronger than knowledge. That myth is more potent than history. That dreams are more powerful than facts. That hope always triumphs over experience. That laughter is the only cure for grief. And I believe that love is stronger than death.  - Robert Fulghum

Past everything we think we know...

I'll meet you,

Sometimes getting lost, is how you find yourself.

Sometime you have to forget all you know,

to remember what never left.

What if I let go?

What if I gave in?

What if all this control isn't helping?

What if I made a little room for a little magic?

What if I've been paying my dues, stacking checks, but I never stopped to cash in?

Your time to R I S E has come.

Some may say, this ain't the place.

To put these thoughts down on this page.

But I just want to feel alright.

What if I told you I had no more songs to sing?

No more words.  No more melodies.

What if all the notes and tones were gone.

Could you still feel my love?

In collaboration with Kaley Isabella.

Cheers to your liberation.

"Our deepest fear is not that we are inadequate. Our deepest fear is that we are powerful beyond measure. It is our light, not our darkness that most frightens us. We ask ourselves, Who am I to be brilliant, gorgeous, talented, fabulous? Actually, who are you not to be? You are a child of God. Your playing small does not serve the world. There is nothing enlightened about shrinking so that other people won't feel insecure around you. We are all meant to shine, as children do. We were born to make manifest the glory of God that is within us. It's not just in some of us; it's in everyone. And as we let our own light shine, we unconsciously give other people permission to do the same. As we are liberated from our own fear, our presence automatically liberates others." - Marianne Williamson

RISE.IN.PEACE. Alex Ghassan + all the souls that left the night of the Oakland Fire.

Windows wide open driving through the valley.

Smiling at strangers walking through city streets.

Staring at Starlight and feeling so small.

These are the things that my heart loves the most.

Moving my body to rhythms electric.

Feeling the flow, letting go until I'm breathless.

Moments of silence when white noise abounds.

These are the things that I can't live without.

When the news breaks, when the Earth shakes, when I feel misunderstood...

I simply remember my favorite things,

and in no time I'm feeling good.

Streets filled with folks filled with fire and spirit.

Resilient souls speaking Truth so we hear it.

Warriors risking their lives to see CHANGE.

These are a few of my favorite things.

Across the room glances and sweet subtle kisses

Talks of Creation and escaping the Matrix.

Orange-violet sunsets on West Coast time.

These are the things that make this life divine.
